Engineering Manager crafting systems, teams, and careers in an AI-driven world

I'm a Senior Engineering Manager with 14+ years of experience building and scaling software products — from large-scale B2B supply-chain platforms at Syncron to consumer-facing applications. I currently lead engineering teams at Saily, part of Nord Security, through growth, complexity, and change — with a focus on psychological safety, decision quality, and systems that scale with people rather than against them.

In 2025, I took a year-long sabbatical. Seven months was travel across South America with my wife — experiences that reshaped how I think about work, identity, and choice. The second half was focused on understanding how AI is changing engineering leadership and team dynamics. The journey led to my WAWTech 2025 talk, Why I Took 7 Months Off. Decision Engineering Lessons From South America — a talk about how we choose, not about travel.

Career Design & Decision Engineering

The AI shift is forcing many professionals to rethink their paths. I focus on the mechanics of those transitions — how people evaluate roles, options, risks, and identity. This work centers on frameworks for better career decisions in fast-changing environments.
